Palm Springs!!

Apologies for things being a wee bit quiet here on the old blog.  We took advantage of my husband's mini-break from work and went to Palm springs for a few days.  It was such a nice little getaway.  We loved lounging by the pool at our hotel, riding bikes down residential streets and checking out the AMAZING architecture and visiting the mid-century modern furniture stores.  And we managed most of these activities with Iggy in tow.  I love how dog-friendly California is!

*why is it that waiters always assume that ribs are for men and not women???

Thanksgiving Thursday

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  I just spent a quiet day with my husband and pooch hiking in Solstice Canyon, baking gluten-free white chocolate and macadamia cookies, watching old movies on netflix and cooking a scrumptious dinner of duck breast in plum sauce with garlic mash and string beans.  I love my days with my little family.

Holiday Update No.4 and a Gal in Black

I'm back in LA and recovering from the crazy, long plane ride.  Melbourne and Tassie were so much fun and it was sad to say goodbye to my loved ones again.  As much as we can skype each other, nothing beats a gathering with your closest people accompanied with food, drinks and loads and loads of hugs.  But anyway...here's some more snaps from Launceston, Tasmania.

 1. Evandale Market 2. Pretty Royal Albert tea cups 3. Super kitsch Bambi teapot and sugar bowl 4. Grumpy men 5. View from plane 6. Cadbury chocolate (is so much better in Australia)

I think Someone had a Stinky Foot Party in the Elevator and Happy Easter!

Seriously, it was the most hardcore foot odor I have ever smelt!
But anyway...
Things that happened this week:
I made my first ever (turkey) meatloaf and it was sooo good!
I worked on lots of custom orders
I exhausted my mind grapes thinking about Renegade Craft Fair (it's my first time as a stall holder so I'm a bit excited)
and I found out my little sister is getting married!

Happy Easter and I hope you have a great weekend!

Happy Valentine's Day!

My husband is one of the most difficult people to shop for - he is extremely fussy and inflexible when it comes to purchases of any sort!  The only thing I could think of that he wants, that he always asks for and I often refuse because it's a bit of a pain to make, is homemade noodle soup.  So, I present to you a few images from the I heart noodle soup coupon book.  Okay, I know, it's a little cheesy...

Halloween @ Villain's Tavern

I can't believe it's November already and the start of another work week (for my husband!).  Does anyone feel like Halloween went by too quickly?  Back home we don't really celebrate this holiday so it was great to see EVERYONE dressed up for the occasion, bar two Australians who will definitely be in costume next year!  On Saturday night  we went to Villain's Tavern to check out some bands and have a couple of drinks.  On Sunday we went to a flea market, grabbed some lunch at the Village Idiot,  I had the best creamed spinach, artichoke and mushroom pie,  and loitered around Melrose trying on hats.  Sigh, five whole days till the weekend again.
