The Lost and Found Girl

Meet Monica.  She is a treasure seeker and finds beauty in unexpected places.  She works at a local video store that specialises in VHS and occasionally worries about job security as it is becoming  quite obsolete.  Her favourite treat is churros con cajeta .

I'm baaack with a "what I wore"...

It feels weird to be painting and in blogger land again after taking almost three weeks off.  I had the loveliest time with my parents, lots of conversation, laughter, silly moments and way too much food consumption!  It was a blast but I'm ready to get back to my usual routine of  hours of internet surfing, blogging and painting (and a wee bit of chores in between!)  And so,  here is my what I wore from last week when I went to The Original Farmers Market with my parents.

Cable knit beanie - Asos
Woolen coat - Vintage (used to belong to my mum)
Sweater - Zara
Denim shorts - Madewell
Tights - Macy's
Bag - Vintage

Some time off...

It's a pretty embarrassing photo but I thought I'd share it anyway in honor of my folks being in town.  I'm super excited because I haven't seen them since I moved here almost two years ago!  They're going to be here for the next 17 days and that's how long a break I'll be taking from blogging.  Ciao ciao!

Stolen Artwork

I've just been made aware by a lovely Etsy seller that a kids clothing company in Argentina has been stealing my designs for commercial use, this makes me angry and disappointed.  I don't watermark my images on my blog or etsy because I know not everyone can/wants buy a print or custom portrait and I think it's nice that people can save an image they like for personal use but when it's been used for profiteering like this...well geez!

Edit (for everyone who asked how I responded to this): I contacted the company about said offense and am now to believe they have removed the items from their stores.

Edward the Archaeologist

Meet Edward.  He is a Professor of  Archaeology at Boston University.  Like most budding Archaeologists, he became drawn to the study of past human societies when he first watched Henry Walton Jones Jr. aka Indiana Jones crack his bullwhip in the Raiders of the Lost Ark.  Though hopeless with a bullwhip Edward did have the book smarts and the patience to endure such a profession.

Cows go Moo

My first ever Barneys warehouse sale!
I'm so excited about this purchase. I've been spying them online and in-store for several months now and I got them for a total steal, hurrah!

Happy Valentine's Day!

My husband is one of the most difficult people to shop for - he is extremely fussy and inflexible when it comes to purchases of any sort!  The only thing I could think of that he wants, that he always asks for and I often refuse because it's a bit of a pain to make, is homemade noodle soup.  So, I present to you a few images from the I heart noodle soup coupon book.  Okay, I know, it's a little cheesy...
